More about Tuesdays for Good and this month’s featured organization – God’s Love We Deliver

Every Tuesday from January to November, Exit 9 will donate 10% of profits to non-profit organizations we love. Each month a different non-profit will be featured and will receive the profit donation from sales on all Tuesdays that month.

 Look for other ways to support these non-profits with Exit 9 such as fund-raising merchandise such as hats with the cause logo.  In these cases, the non-profit will receive 100% of the proceeds their own branded merchandise.

God’s Love We Deliver

For as long as most of us at Exit 9 have lived in New York City, there has always been God’s Love We Deliver. Now, as the organization celebrates its 25^th anniversary, we are learning that God’s Love We Deliver continues to change and grow to meet its core mission of  providing life-sustaining meals and nutritional counseling for people living with life-threatening illnesses.  Particularly, as the public need continues to increase.

These are few amazing things we didn’t know about God’s Love We Deliver, that just make us love them more:

 

• GLWD still works to improve the health and well-being of men women and children living with HIV/Aids, but now also supports those living with cancer and other serious diseases.

• GLWD serves clients with more than 200 individual diagnosis and does so, free of charge, without regard to income, and they never have resorted to a waiting list.

• Theirs is no longer just a 5-borough mission – meals are now delivered to some parts of New Jersey

• While over the past 25 years GLWD has prepared and delivered over 12 million meals, they now deliver 1 million meals each year. That translates to 4,000 meals each weekday.

• They deliver love and support to caretakers and children of their clients with meals and personalized birthday cakes.

 

God’s Love We Deliver achieves all this with the help of nearly 8,000 volunteers annually.
